Unit 3: Movies Reflection

Unit 3 Movie Reflection

In this unit, I learned the knowledge and history of movie. Movie is at the

intersection of art, industry, technology and politics. Movie is a thin, flexible material

coated in light-sensitive emulsion that retains an image after it is expose to

light. Peter Mark Roget discovered Persistence of Vision. Persistance of Vision is

keeps you from seeing the black spaces between the frames of a projected film. The

earliest movie was composed of photos, and there was no sound. With the

development of technology, the film has also evolved. In 1820s, Joseph Niepce

knows how to use camera photograph to make movies. Film is an illusion that is

carefully crafted by people who want to show a specific point of view. There is a

whole world of film out there to discover, and there is a lot that film can help us

discover about ourself too. In Tyler Perry's Money Machine I learned Perry's films

helped him make a lot of money. Perry's characters are unsubtle, his humor is

broad, and his plots are soaked with melodrama. Among his big themes are love,

fidelity and the importance of family, and his movies usually have religious

overtones. African Americans a "high-growth, high-potential audience." African

Americans are "embracing and using the newest technologies at rates that exceed

the national average," African American buying power will top $900 billion within a

few years. This is why Perry succeeded.
